Stress Hypnotherapy can be used for stress management in two ways. First, I will use hypnosis to get my client into a deeply relaxed state, fighting tension and triggering the relaxation response. This is a wonderful deep state of relaxation and in the 30 years and more that I have been practising Hypnotherapy I have never yet had anyone who didn’t enjoy it. Contrary to popular belief the state of hypnosis is not a trance, my client will not be out of control, and I certainly won’t make them do any silly tricks. Hypnotherapy is a wonderful deep state of relaxation, it is a sort of daydream state the client is never at risk or vulnerable at any time Stress hypnotherapy will help to prevent health problems due to chronic stress. Next, stress hypnotherapy can also help people achieve various healthy lifestyle changes that can reduce the amount of stress that they encounter in their life.

For example, I will use stress hypnotherapy to encourage my client to stick to an exercise program, keep their home less cluttered, feel more confident setting boundaries with others, etc. using stress hypnotherapy I will give suggestions and affirmations to reduce the level of anxiety my client may feel when they encounter situations that normally trigger stress as well, such as intimidating social situations.

In this same vein, I will also effectively use stress hypnotherapy to help my client overcome any negative habits they may have been using to cope with stress, like smoking or compulsive eating.

What’s Involved in Stress Hypnotherapy?

The process of hypnosis involves entering a deeply relaxed but focused state (like that of daydreaming, it is a little like being in a boring lesson at school, being aware of the teacher talking, being aware of what the child behind is doing, but one’s thoughts being somewhere else). Once in this state, it involves making suggestions for your subconscious mind to accept.

There are many therapists for you to choose from, but I always advice caution when choosing a therapist. Unfortunately, a large number of therapists advertising are very poorly qualified, many have done little more than an online course. Also, many therapists will try to persuade their clients that they are going to need multiple sessions, this is nonsense a competent qualified hypnotherapist can help achieve positive results with just one session. I myself have a degree in Psychology, a doctorate in Psychology and various postgraduate qualifications in Psychotherapy and Counselling. I have been in practice for over 30 years and have an overall success rate of over 96%.  So when choosing a therapist for hypnotherapy for stress, please use caution.
