Hypnotherapy self-esteem – is the way someone describes the image and opinion they have of themselves. It is how they think and imagine, the type of person they are, their ability to perform, and what they expect of themselves in the future.
When someone has high self-esteem, this is healthy; they will feel good about themselves and have a healthy and promising outlook on life. If a person has high self-esteem, it gives them the courage and strength to deal with whatever life throws at them – without it having a long-term and negative impact on their health.
If someone has low self-esteem, their thoughts and feelings about themselves can be detrimental. They are more likely to think about their self-perceived weaknesses and be negatively judgemental about the things they do and any errors they make. Having low self-esteem means the way they look at their entire life is affected. Their mental and physical health can suffer due to low self-esteem. It is imperative to seek help to make sure long-term problems are not developing. Hypnotherapy for increasing self-esteem is an increasingly popular way of helping.
Hypnotherapy self-esteem and self-confidence
People often talk about having low ‘self-esteem’ or low ‘self-confidence’ to describe how they feel about themselves. However, although confidence affects self-esteem, they are two different concepts. Self-confidence is the level of self-trust someone has in their abilities, our judgement and their personal qualities. Their self-confidence level can be different from one situation to another. For example, they could be self-confident in academic fields, but not so much when it comes to sport or games. Self-esteem is how they feel about themselves and tends to be the same from one situation to another. Their self-confidence is learned from their experiences and the circumstances that they have experienced in the past. All of these shape how they feel about themselves in the here and now.
So it is possible for a person to be self-confident but to have low self-esteem – and vice versa. If they can learn to value themselves, then it follows that their self-esteem will improve. This will make you feel them confident about themselves. When someone has confidence in themselves, they feel better about themselves. Hypnotherapy is an excellent way of improving both self-confidence and self-esteem.
What could have caused someone to feel this way
Hypnotherapy self-esteem – Most psychologists subscribe to the view that issues of confidence and esteem originate from childhood. The relationships someone has in their youth, parents, siblings, friends and teachers help them to form the opinion they have about themselves. They are told both positive and negative things about themselves as they grow up, but it is usually the negative ones that stick in their minds. As they progress into adolescence, the messages they are given can shape their perception of self-worth.
There has been much research to suggest that the media can be another source of low self-esteem among young people. They are subjected to People portrayed in the news and online as unrealistic ideals of beauty and success. This gives them feelings of self-doubt in their minds and makes them feel like they will never measure up to what is perceived as desirable. If they are struggling with low self-esteem, this promotes feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness.
